The lemonade diet was created by Stanley Burroughs 50 years ago, at that time being a fast and intense detoxifying diet for those with a fat and unhealthy dietary and for those who didn’t follow any sport program, having a sedentary lifestyle.
Some people have followed this diet and after a while they have noticed some effects on their bodies such as depression amelioration, increased energy, slight weight loss, improvement of chronic pain, younger skin appearance, assuming that this cure would eliminate toxins, too.
The main purpose of this diet was to detoxify the body, was no longer than three days and it wasn’t indicated for thin people. In time, the lemonade diet has been adopted to eliminate extra kilos, becoming a famous diet after Beyonce announced she lost 9 kilos in about 10 days, as the diet promises.
What is the lemonade diet?
Lemonade cure for weight loss consists in eating 6 servings of lemons per day for ten days.
After 10 days we recommend gradual introduction of other food on a daily basis, starting with vegetable soup, followed by fresh fruit and vegetable, then meat and finally sweets and fats. While you follow the diet, it is not recommended to go to the gym or to practice any other sport because the body won’t have the necessary amount of energy and you risk to faint because the diet is very poor in energy and because this diet lead to melt the muscle mass through protein needs of the body, and if you go to the gym, you will increase the body’s need for protein and the metabolism will be much more affected.
